Tickets for the first two events on the 2017 PowerShares Series in Toronto, Canada and Charleston, S.C. are now on sale.
The Champions Challenge in Toronto, to be played March 30 at 7pm at the Ricoh Coliseum, will feature John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Andy Roddick and Mark Philippoussis. Tickets, starting at 40 CAD, are available at Ticketmaster.com. The event will be produced in conjunction with MATCHPOINT CAPITOL INC. VIP experiences, including hit-with-pros opportunities and backstage access are also available at www.PowerSharesSeries.com.
The PowerShares Legends Charleston will be played at the Volvo Car Stadium in Charleston during the WTA’s Volvo Cars Open will also feature McEnroe, Courier, Roddick and Philippoussis. Tickets for the 7 pm matches start at $30 and are available at http://volvocaropen.com/tickets/powersharesseries/.
The PowerShares Series is the North American tennis circuit for champion tennis players over the age of 30. Each PowerShares Series event features two one-set semifinal matches and a one-set championship match and, for the third straight year, players make their own line calls.
The full schedule of events and player fields for the 2017 PowerShares Series will be announced on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
The 2016 PowerShares Series concluded with Mark Philippoussis earning the year-end points championship and winning five titles in the season and losing only one match, to Andy Roddick in the final of Los Angeles, Calif. The former Wimbledon and U.S. Open finalist won titles in Memphis, Tulsa, Newport, R.I., Winston-Salem, N.C. and New Haven. Andy Roddick finished in second place, winning titles in Charleston, St. Louis, Los Angeles and Orlando. James Blake claimed three titles winning in Chicago, Portland, Oregon and Brooklyn, N.Y. In 2015, Andy Roddick won the PowerShares Series points title winning a record eight events in Los Angeles, Lincoln, Chicago, Austin, Little Rock, Dallas, Richmond and Minneapolis. In 2014, John McEnroe won the points title for the first time in the history of Champions Series tennis by winning events in Kansas City, Indianapolis, Nashville and Charlotte.
