Kei Nishikori beat Brian Dabul of Argentina 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 Saturday in the final of the Sarasota Challenger in Sarasota, Fla. The tournament marked the Japanese star’s fifth tournament back following his elbow surgery.
The win is also Nishikori’s second challenger win in a row after after winning the Savannah Challenger last week. He is now 10-0 on clay this year.Nishkori is hoping to get into the main draw of the French Open, which starts next Sunday in Paris.
“Kei is hoping he will sneak into the main draw of the French Open and we will know more about this in the next couple of days,” said his agent Olivier van Lindonk or the International Management Group.
