CINCINNATI — Roger Federer won a record fifth Cincinnati title on Sunday, tying Rafael Nadal with 21 Masters titles, as he defeated Novak Djokovic 6-0, 7-6(7).
The Serb never gained his rhythm in the first set, dropping it in just 20 minutes. Although Djokovic was able to battle back in the second set, Federer kept his cool and came out victorious, solidifying himself as the heavy favorite for the U.S. Open title coming up next week.
