Here’s a summary of today’s (June 25) Wimbledon 2026 qualifying action — the final day of the qualifying rounds:
Men’s Qualifiers (confirmed today)
Qualifying concluded on Thursday, with Jaime Faria, Michael Zheng, and British wild card Oliver Tarvet among the 16 players who booked their main-draw spots. Faria, who recently reached the Roland Garros third round, is set for his second Wimbledon main draw appearance. American Zheng is set for his third main-draw appearance at a major, having also qualified at the Australian Open and Roland Garros earlier this year.
Who of the Brits qualified for the main Wimbledon 2026 draw?
Oliver Tarvet, Billy Harris, and Max Basing all punched their tickets to the main draw after coming through their final qualifying matches. Tarvet defeated Greece’s Stefanos Sakellaridis 6-4, 6-2, 7-5, recovering from a break down in the third set to reel off the final four games. Harris pulled off a comeback win over China’s Zhou Yi, winning 1-6, 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-3.
Heather Watson ousted
Heather Watson was set to bid to join her compatriots later in the afternoon in her final qualifying match. Watson had earlier produced an incredible comeback to defeat Tatiana Porzorova 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in two hours and 42 minutes, coming back from a break down in the second set and facing two break points in the third.
Other notable exits
Dan Evans bowed out in the second round of qualifying. This is particularly poignant as Evans will retire from professional tennis after this tournament.
The main draw at Wimbledon gets underway on 29 June, running through to 12 July 2026.
